Great Looking Logo Golf Balls

Have you ever asked yourself why some logos standout better on a golf ball than others? If you haven’t than you probably haven’t ordered any logo golf balls for your company which is another article for another time. Today, however we would like to discuss trying to maximize the features of your company logo on a golf ball, so that it produces the biggest impact if given as a gift or found in the woods. Hopefully you will notice the key word in the last sentence is impact. To illustrate my point, let’s look at the beautiful white pines logo below. Even though this is a beautiful logo and probably great on brochures and stationary, it’s terrible on golf balls. The reason is simple; it’s long in width and short in height. Another problem with the logo is the white fill in text as the small green outline for the text will get lost. So what does one do? In our opinion logo owners should allows talk to the people printing the logos on the golf balls. These folks print logos day and night on golf balls and they know what works and doesn’t from the standpoint of impact and getting the most out of printing on the golf ball. Basically, the key to any good looking golf ball logo is size of print to area of print. Therefore, one needs to remember that area of print on a golf ball is round and has the shape of a sphere with the total mark area of around 7/8” in diameter. The best looking logo golf balls are the logo’s that maximize those dimensions. So what does The White Pines Land Company do? In our opinion, white pines should strip away the text as in the second image below, thus leaving the colorful white pine picture that is about the same in width as it is in height. Then if they feel that the logo still needs some support to indentify the company, they should add text in a circle around the impact image as in the third and last image. Remember, you do not need to have your exact logo on a golf ball, just great features of the logo that identifies that golf ball with your company.

Golf statistics always amaze me and the statistics surrounding the golf ball in the USA is no exception. Here are some facts concerning the golf ball in the US. Did you know that close to 600 million new golf balls are purchased in the US each year? Did you also know that over 300 million golf balls are lost or discarded in the US that same year? Did you know that the golf ball takes between 100 and 1000 years to decompose?  Did you know that when a golf ball decomposes it releases toxic zinc in the process, not to mention other heavy metals like tungsten, cobalt and lead used in the manufacturing of the golf ball? Did you know (if my math is correct) that it will take just 60 years to cover the surface of the US with lost golf balls if this continues, based on the fact that the US has roughly 3.8 million square miles of land and the golf ball is roughly 4.2 cm Sq.  The reason for this information is not to start a campaign for you to give up golf, like cigarettes, but to raise your level of conscious that there are other options when it comes to purchasing your new personalized golf balls, especially logo golf balls that are great promotional items for corporations and golf events.
